Default computer randomly freezing for a few seconds to several minutes

For the last week I've been extremely frustrated by my computer randomly freezing for a few seconds to several minutes without errors, cpu spikes or anything.

No Viruses, no registry errors, drives were defragged. Mem test was run overnight win 0 errors. Drives error checked with no issues.
All services and startup items reset to windows defaults.
I thought I had it narrowed down to my Win 7 drive but if that had no errors it had to be something else.

I finally saw a mention of power settings in my search for solutions and remembered I'd altered the power schemes because it was recommended in the new AVID optimization video.

I changed them back to defaults, and I don't want to jinx it but it's back to normal now.

At least I didn't start throwing money at the problem but seriously What THE EFFFF????!!!!!!!!

Default Re: AVID suggested Power Settings made PC worse

Well it's still freezing. So I have no idea what the cause is. It did improve right after changing the power scheme but didn't fix it entirely.
I also reset the bios to default.

Ya know, I'm have the same issue, that just started and only happens when using certain plugins...In my case TL drum rehab. There are 2 things that changed on my computer recently...

1)iTunes 10, which I'm sure also did a fresh Quicktime install
2)IE9 beta

My problem isn't really intermittent and for the most part I've figured out specific things I can avoid doing to prevent it. I was just wondering if you had installed either of these updates recently before I try to downgrade and see if that returns my system to stable? Otherwise I'll just wait for 8.0.5 or whatever.
