Default Inexpensive Midi Controller Anyone?

My Axiom 49 keeps dropping its connections in PT 12...did that in the past but seems to have gotten worse.

SOOOOO....

I'm looking for an inexpensive Controller. Needs to RELIABLY WORK under Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit and PT 12.

I DON'T NEED all the bells and whistles....say a 49 key to trigger Strike and the other AIR plugins.

Under $200 would be perfect. :)

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Axiom Pro? I would recommend pawn shops as well, when you tell the guys to hook it up, and it doesn't make sound....you could be in for a BIG discount!!!

I'd prefer to stay away from M-Audio and Axiom series for the reasons I stated above but thanks for the post.)

So, maybe an odd question, but I seem to ask it a lot. Did you disable your USB power management so it doesn't shut off the USB port?

sw rec...Yes sir! Did all the recommended optimizations...

It IS weird tho. After I power on the Axiom it will be fine for a few minutes and then I can see the display on it start changing all by itself without doing anything on my past.

If for example I am using STRIKE, it may be fine triggering different patterns for a time and the it goes out to lunch. No matter what key I press the SAME pattern is played.

The Midi Out is wired to the Midi In of the Presonus AudioBox USB. Midi Over USB is turned OFF on the Axiom.
