I wonder if I drag all Waveshells to trash? Someone called it "WavesHell" and I completely understand now!

Thank you!

Kiki
You're looking at the folder for PT10 in that second shot which is completely different than the one for PT11. Did you remove the file I told you to remove in my previous post? The WavesHell file in the unused plugins folder is what I'm talking about - delete that.

Yes I DID have PT10 and I got a free upgrade when 11 came out (huge difference improvement over PT10.)

Yes I did that. I moved it to a USB zip drive. It is no longer in the unused plugins folder.

What do you suggest next?

Thank you musicman!!

I am going to download a free plugin tonight, and see if Pro Tools can "see" it.

If it does then I'll know it's a Waves issue.

It equates to a NET loss of about $76.00, but I keep reminding myself of all the wonderful recordings from the 60's and 70's that never saw a DAW or a plugin.

Get the Pete Gates utility program to help dump prefs and databases and use it. There's some settings in that utility to also dump certain Waves stuff - make use of it. Reboot the computer - you don't have to but it won't hurt.

There's only two places you should have a current WaveShell:
MacHD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plugins which would have Waveshell-AAX 9.6 plugin for PT11 and PT12

MacHD/Library/Aplpication Support/Digidesign/Plugins which would have Waveshell-dae 9.6.dpm for PT10

You should not have identical Waveshells in the unused plugins folders and regular plugin folders for either PT version - if you do delete the ones in the unused folder.. Note that you can have other Waveshells in the unused folders but those would have to be completely different versions than the one(s) in the regular plugin folder.

Something just came to mind - how did you do the install - from the offline installer or what? If you used the non-offline installer that updates Waveshell to a version that unusable for Mountain Lion and Mavericks - you need Yosemite at a minimum. If you did use the non-offline installer do this: grab the offline installer and then grab the 9.6 Waveshell which should be downloadable from Waves. Unplug from the internet. Run the recently downloaded Waveshell installer. Run the offline installer and install whatever Waves plugins you want. The fly in the ointment comes downloading the license - I got lucky in that I have two boot partitions and used the OSX 10.8.5 one to get the license onto a ram card from one of my old digital cameras. Then I can use it in my regular working partition of OSX 10.9.5

I'm having the same problem with only one, the one I just installed via Waves Central - CLA Mixdown.
I can see ALL the other Waves plugs in PT. Trashed prefs, reinstalled WC, checked appropriate folders. Everything looks "normal" prior to this recent instal but PT cannot see the CLA Mixdown plug. Have been using Waves for years. This is the first.

OK I found my problem (this may be yours too Rinky.) It was a licensing problem. Waves, AFTER I told them goodbye forever, by the grace of God emailed me back and said these two plugs PT couldn't see were installed, but not licensed.

I could swear up my kids I did license... but they were right.

I feel so embarrassed and I thank everyone who posted and helped me.

Rinky you may want to check your licensing in Waves Central. I, like you have a TON of Waves and never had this problem either.

Good you got it sorted but the 'not licensed' thing bothers me as it does you. When you purchased the plugins did you buy them through Waves or someone like Audio Deluxe? I know that in the past for me at least anything I buy through AD is not licensed/registered through the developer like Waves - I have to do that as a separate step with Waves (or whatever developer). If you got the plugs through Waves I'd be worried about problems in their system as those should automatically be licensed/registered in your account.

I've gotten into the habit of checking my Waves account to see if everything is there that should be there. Considering this episode you might want to do that as well.

I think the OP means he didn't transfer his license as in license authorisation onto a USB stick or to the machine. IOW, it was in the 'cloud' and so it wouldn't authorise when trying to run them in PT.

Well, that's how I read it. If I'm right, it was user error and not a Waves issue hence my cheeky 'did you apologise' comment.
