Default Installation hdx upgrade

Hi

Not sure if anyone else has this issue... I have both protools hd version 8 on tdm and hd native version 9 ..

I just got my hdx upgrade but as i was authorizing it i i realize i have accidentally surrendered my protools 9 hd liscense .. In my avid account it shows i am ellible for a protools 10 hd upgrade from version 7 or 8

But the was sent to ilok as an upgrade from protools nine..

Anyone know how to fix this? So i dont lose my separate version nine authorization

Cheers

Scott

Scott,

Don't panic. I did the same thing when I upgraded to 10HD a few months back. Your PT10 licence should be a combined licence for 9 & 10. If you go into your iLok account, there should be a little triangle next to your 10 licence that says something like "show" or "hide". Flip this down and you should see a PT9 licence embedded in there also.

If not, I used one of my complimentary ASC codes and sent a message to Avid tech support, and the nice chap swapped out my 8 licence (which I wanted to keep) and helped me surrender my standalone 9 licence for the combined 9 & 10 one. I went too fast when I first authorised and should have surrendered my old 7.3 or something similar I had (at the time I didn't think that could possibly be right, but apparently it is. I should've binned an old unused licence. Doh!), but it all worked out fine in the end. They have some funky surrendering tools that can sort this out within your iLok account.

Hope that helps.

Cheers
