As the ship sinks, prices will continue to drop.

I bet all of you who rushed to pay $999 are already wishing you had waited.

Keep waiting, it get's better.

PEACE

Hi,

This a way to side swipe the purchase price!!! It would be a mess to lower the price now!!

It should always have been $599 with the support plan and $399 outright purchase.

UM $999 outright purchase or $599 for purchase plus 1 year support plan what marketing guy that that one up.

Marketing disaster

At least we can demo and see if everything works OK before committing

That Max G appears to have responded to the price concerns over on GS forums first, instead of on DUC first, says a lot I think. Unless it's posted somewhere else over here. This is the first I've seen it... NEVERMIND - I see it was posted here already.

At any rate, if PT11 is coming and will be priced higher -- perhaps they could tell us if PT11 is coming super soon. Might make the $599 Avid Standard Support plan/maintenance a sweet deal.

This is a knee jerk reaction to the heat, I and others are putting on Avid to come up with a fair pricing structure. But, they are not there yet.
If you can wait it out, you will all be much happier with the price you will pay.

Avid doesn't drive the price, WE DO.

By the way, I would like to thank Avid for letting me speak my mind on THEIR forum. A lot of companies would not have, and my account would just be blocked. So, I do respect Avid for letting free speech continue.

I am a long standing Avid supporter, which is why being treated so poorly after being one of their most financially rewarding customers has me so irritated.
You don't toss aside the clients that kept your doors open.

But, thank you for letting me have a voice.

I bet the support plan runs out before the next major upgrade as well. They still win. Still a better deal though.

Great,

So now it's only overpriced by double, not over triple.

Why again are the HD users getting hosed?
The upgrade to a buggy PT9 for $100 more than the LE user wasn't bad enough?

For $300 more we get what exactly that the PT10 users don't get?

16K of ADC & 32 Bit Floating Point is not the answer you're looking for.
