tempo detection
Hi. Hope someone out there can help.
I've done a transfer from a 16 track tape machine into to PT 7.4. A click track was recorded on the original recording and transferred along with all the other tracks. I've used beat detective to determine the tempo using the click track ( a quarter note cowbell with a tambourine on 2 & 4) and all seems to be well until about half way through the song where the tempo jumps between 95 BPM to 191 BPM from beat to beat making it impossible to drop loops in effectively. What are the possible causes and how can I fix this? Thanks Darryn |

Re: tempo detection
No idea what the cause is, but once you establish a beat and align it to your grid, you can manually set the tempo. If the tempo is consistent throughout the song, set the tempo manually using the tempo event drop down. That will force the grid to follow the established tempo and override the area where it goes funky.

Re: tempo detection
Highlight click track. Open beat detective and use the beat/bar marker gen function. Then you should have an accurate tempo map

Re: tempo detection
Thanks for that. I managed to fix it but have encountered a problem with another track.
I'll keep you posted! Darryn |
