What is it saying exactly----are you sure it's not that the audio is playing, it stops, and says you need to change the buffer settings?

[QUOTE=tystick420;1904521 My current h/w size is 44.1kHz default i guess. [/QUOTE]

"44.1kHz" is a sample rate and not a hardware buffer setting. Go to "Setup" - "Playback Engine" and you should have a drop down selection for "HW Buffer." The choices should be 32, 64, 128. 256. 512, and 1024 samples. Normally you select a larger H/W Buffer to give your system adequate time to process the audio data. The preferred setting is to use the lowest setting without problems for tracking (limited by hardware) and the highest setting when mixing.

You should also make sure that you have done all the other system tweaks to make your system perform optimally for Protools (not the same as optimally for a personal computer). These include turning off Wi-fi, bluetooth, anti-virus software and recording to a physically separate hard drive (not your OS drive)

Good to hear it fixed itself. It might be a good time to make a drive image of your working system so you can always come back to it when needed.
