Default 888 - AES to Tdif, or MADI convertors?

Hi,
We use 888s. We would like to get audio into a
system that'll only cope with Tdif, or MADI.
Does anyone know of a reasonably cheap way of doing this?
Id there a conversion for the 888 that will give
Tdif out?
As usual, all ideas welcome.

Many thanks,
Davy

Depends on how many channels you want to run... The cheapest and easiest things would probably be to TDIF.

Look at the Otari UFC (now IZ-Radar http://www.izcorp.com/assets/pdfs/UFC%2024.pdf) and the RME audio ADI-8DD (which will give you ADAT, TDIF, and AES conversion http://www.rme-audio.de/english/adi/adi8dd.htm). RME also makes an ADAT to MADI conversion box. (http://www.rme-audio.de/english/adi/adi648.htm)

As you start getting more expensive, there is the Euphonix box that they developed for the System 5 board. That has MADI as well.

Big problem with the IFAE8 is that depending on the version you have, it often truncates 24 bit words. If you want to be assured of passing 24 bits cleanly, you'll need the IFAE8-HR (which costs a couple hundred $$ more).

The Euphonix FC727 is ideal for this!

Lot's of other useful format-converting features on board too.

Digi multipin in > MADI out
