The way http://www.sweetwater.com/feature/digidesign2008/ reads, it looks like $249 is the upgrade from 7.4.x.

Well, I just got off the phone from my PT supplier in South Africa, and they can't give me a price yet!

But, the question is, should I upgrade when it comes out? bugs, bugs, bugs!! Maybe I'll again be one of those who'll wait for the 2nd cs. update.

As i'm sitting here thinking about my future it all points to PT 8. The less I have to rely on another software package and the more I can stay in PT the better. It's not fun anymore running DP, PT and Logic on the same computer.

What I'm actualy contemplating about getting is the video satelite option. That does look cool!! And it will at long last get my old LE gear something decent to do apart from recording my girlfriends bad singing.

Upgrade price is $149 for LE, $249 for HD. The amnesty period starts on October 3rd, so new hardware or software purchases after that date will get the update for free.

Does that include hardware crossgrades from PCI to PCIe? I'm thinking it might be a good time to do it if I would essentially be getting a $250 discount.

That sucks. I upgraded to 7.4.2 at the end of July because a project that I started 2 days ago was going to be using ProTools, and I had upgraded my MBP to Leopard. I generally don't use PT, but I need it to be there for outside projects that require it.

Will 7.4.2 open v8 projects?
