That splash screen is far enough - if you press del key and or an F key and nothing happens - it's a keyboard or port issue

- mine was a simple Mac wired keyboard with num pad (usb2.0)

Buy another keyboard (if it's not new you can always take it back) and or try another USB port

what else would i remove? The wifi card, the power led plug, and the front panel USB plug and hard drives, etc?

Do you think a Ps2 to USB adaptor would work or should I find an entire Ps2 adaptor?

Keep in mind I just sent back the other same exact board that was doing the same thing. It has to be either me or my hardware.. The only thing that wasnt out at the time the mobo came out I think was my EVGA GTX 770 SC.
Dont know if the adapter will work. Never used one. I would say to find a keyboard. It may seem like a long shot but I have had to use it from time to time.

I have always had the vid card, stick of ram (make sure it's in the correct dimm) 1 blank hard drive, and keyboard-mouse and optical drive. I also always have the board to case options all attached.

What USB ports are you plugged into?? Make sure your not in a USB3 port (blue) or a case port.
I have both an apple wired keyboard and a Dell wired keyboard. the Dell keyboard is old its one that I'm borrowing from work. I'm going to purchase a ps2 USB adapter and try that, then hopefully borrow my buddies USB keyboard. his is a bit more modern.

I tried booting the machine with only one stick of RAM and it would not boot with one stick of RAM in any slot. it only boots with two Rams. I will try booting with some of the peripherals unplugged. does anyone think that the issue could be the RAM or the CPU?

I haven't followed the whole thread, but I can tell you that the flat aluminum Apple keyboard won't let you access some Gigabyte BIOSes while the old plastic one works fine.

bought new RAM, put it in Gigabytes suggested slots 1 &2.

Borrowed neighbors ps2 style keyboard and nothing.

So mac wired usb keyboard, no go

Dell wired usb keyboard , no go

asus ps2 style keyboard , no go

This is the second set of ram

This is the second motherboard.

Dumb question is the USB header connected to the motherboard

Default making headway

Ok bros I will skip all the crap and get to the point and see if you can help me along.

I was able to rule out the issue to be the Graphics card! This is the 2013 EVGA GTX 770 2GB SC w/ACX coolers GPU (a badass freaking card)

I popped out my GTX 770 and popped in a random small PCIE powered GPU at microcenter and was able to get into the bios with one push of a button on my keyboard. What a relief that was!

I then exchanged the GPU with the same model (thinking the one I had was defective) , got it home and to my demise its doing the same thing and not allowing the keyboard to access any functions.

The fans on the GPU spins and everything looks fine, but the machine will not recognize key strokes to get me into the install process.

This GPU requires "extra power". So I have 2 adaptors that allow it to run both a 6-pin power supply off of the PSU and a "6+2-pin" adaptor off the PSU.

The GPU is drawing power directly off of the 750W PSU and is plugged into the recommended "PCI-E 16x" slot. The "generic random" GPU card at microcenter didnt require any additional power and was plugged into the same PCI-E 16x slot when we had success.

Am I missing something?

Default Hackintosh with Pro Tools?

This is all I know - when I built my hack tonymac's site recommended at GT-640 and that's what I bought

I wish I had a nicer card but - I also don't want problems - but to be honest you shouldn't be having issues

Contact EVGA and they might have a fix for you ! Best of luck

This card is on the list of qualified GPU`s on the tonymacx86 hackintosh pro socket 2011 build list. Currently swapping it for a gigabyte GTX 770 windforce cartoon of the same card. Hopefully report back with some good news.
