exactly, this band that was going to come in that has before flipped out when I wouldnt "cut a deal" on them just coming in to jam using my drums, PA, keyboards and amps. Stupid mofos. Just cause I talk to a band and am all friendly with them doesn'y mean that we're good buddies either.

I gotta agree with you on this one.

We had a thread on giving away CDs a while back, and I strongly disagreed about letting it piss you off, but here I agree.

And I would feel no embarassment about saying "No".

Of course close personal friends is another matter...

Actually I enjoy my buddies and the give and take that is a part of those relationships. If they are really your buddies swing the deal. Or you could just sit at home by yourself and post to the DUC.

My take is this. Real buddies would let you barrow there gear for free in an emergency. But my experience most of those so called buddies---where were they at while you were working your ass off to pay for your gear??????? Those are the guys who dont even fathom how much mooolah it takes to do what we do. They just think all that stuff is "cool" and just vaporized accidentally into my studio. Hey, most likely a close friend wouldnt ask for a deal, but would get one anyway!
