Default I really hate to do this

Ok heres the situation.

After some time I've decided to install Reason Adapted and SampleTank SE.

I generally do all of my production with my external keyboards.

I can get both Reason and SampleTank to work when I use audio tracks, but nothing when using aux tracks. I have them routed identically but nothing works. I've tried every routing possibilty I can think of. I've also searched the DUC and didn't find anything. The PDF didn't resolve either.

I've googled with no outcome.

I'm using PT 6.1.1 with the latest versions for both apps.

I know it's probably something simple, but I'm not getting it right now.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I use them on aux tracks all the time, so it works.

- does the aux track have an input assigned? logically, it shouldn't need one, but I think it does
- MOST IMPORTANT: make sure the aux track's fader is up, they default to -inf

Are you using a TDM system? You can't place them on aux tracks in TDM, just audio, that's why I ask.

FatBelly,
As Tele suggests, set your aux track to 'No input'. Put the program ON the aux as a plugin, and then load whatever sound you want from it on a Midi track fader. I also suggest getting one program going first(Reason or Sampletank).
Most of this you may know, but I'm just trying to catch the one thing that'll get you going.
Post back how it goes...

Well guys I can't figure it out. I've tried what you guys suggested and no luck with SampleTank.

My original post was incorrect, my problem is only with SampleTank, even with low latency monitoring off and no input assigned.

Reason works put no SampleTank on a Aux track.

I'll keep trying.

Thanks again.

Ok I've got sound coming from SampleTank now.
I left the low latency monitoring off and on the input of the AUX track, it had to be set to any interface input to get sound out.

I don't know if this is supposed to work this way or not but it does.

I think I need to do a little more tinkering.

I think sampletank is supposed to work on an audio track. That's what a guy from IK told me.

somehow the aux-track with sampletank on it needs an input. It can be any input you like, and the audio being fed to that input will not be heard "through" sampletank so to say. So next time, just assign an input to it, and you're good to go.
