That demo was from the NAB last year in April. So the freeze feature was working in that demo. I have no idea why it has not been included in current shipping software.

All the printed info I have seen describing PT12 features does not mention Freeze. Agreed it would be a nice feature to include. Maybe we have to wait for PT13!

Evil, no. But I get the impression they have no respect for their customers. None.

I'm not a major studio but I have a license to PT11. All I want is for it to work properly. Do I have to start paying into a subscription plan just to get bug fixes? For me, there is absolutely nothing new of any value in PT12. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. But if I want those bug fixes I will have to subscribe.

I feel like I have been sold beta software, and the only way to get a finished version is to buy a subscription for software that adds nothing new.

You don't have to subscribe in order to buy the software. Subscription/rental is an option, and perpetual licenses are still an option.

I think they missed that detail in the marketing meetings. I read about many studios that refuse to allow production machines on the internet. It makes sense in a production environment. Personally, I do have an internet connection, but I have considered not doing so.

I doubt very much I will be going to PT12. I'm not surrendering my license to PT11 to go into a subscription model until something of value has been added. That isn't true in PT12. It's entirely possible I will be on PT11 for many years to come, or until I move to a different platform.

Sonicstate have posted a PT12 video with Tom Graham from Avid:

http://www.sonicstate.com/news/2015/...-collboration/

At least in passing, he mentions HD version requires hardware and calls the next version up from 'First' 'standard' ... was hoping for 'vanilla' :)

Also mentioned release 'in the coming month or so'.

If we're lucky, maybe they will even add pop-up advertisements that randomly occur in the middle of sessions. I hate to miss a chance to buy something useless right in the middle of a session.

Is it true that they added a different shade of yellow to the color-palette?

No, no no. You get an improved store!

What, you don't want to pay for that?
