I thought this was going to be a video shot by a Go Pro camera mounted to an arial drone flying around the NAMM convention during set up.

Either way, sounds like someone let the cat out of the bag early.

ETA: That Waves H Verb looks kind of interesting. I hope it's included in the Platinum bundle.

I would think it's what they showed @ IBC last April.

The tech preview. Google it.

I'm presuming the major addition is collaborative cloud (which they toted in some recent videos)

Might be worth the move ... maybe ... we'll see... I'd have to demo it first

I, personally, do not care for any new functions if the current show stopping bugs are not fixed.

It actually looks like that poster from the other thread a few weeks ago was right about PT 12 dropping soon. The board shut him down but it seems he did have inside info.

That's a different question. He said version, I was clarifying based on what we know of the support plan at this time.

'right now' means nothing cause we know very little, and also, the plan really offers us NOTHING, RIGHT NOW.

Well, I suppose we do know that when they released the upgrade from 9 to 11, 10 to 11 pricing, they told us 11 users to wait and they had something for us.... as it turns out, the something they had for us was the same exact price as those also getting an upgrade, so we really got nothing RIGHT NOW. And that they are still telling EVERYONE, wait, we'll tell you the rest later. I have a feeling I know where that is going.

we know I own 11 and unless I need support (which I don't) there is absolutely no point to buy in .... I would wait until the very last second to buy in so that my coverage period lasts as long as possible.....

I just have a feeling I'm going to get muscled into signing on just to not be penalized even more later for having skipped a version jump (like going 11, 13 rather than 11, 12, 13)

I likely will not need anything 12 has to offer. Collaborative cloud ? I have an FTP server myself, my clients, and collaborators use to transfer sessions and files (of any size) - so there is not really a huge benefit there.

Unless it is something that ups my productivity or improves my workflow, then I don't care

However, if I were to pass on 12, but then it costs me $2k to buy into 13 because I skipped 12, I'm gonna be royally pissed off lol

Speculation perhaps, but so far everything is shaping up exactly the way I thought it was gonna - and they keep leaving us HD users waiting to hear

And I don't want to hear an argument about HD users whining... Vanilla users can buy a full license at a reasonable price sans hardware - us HD users bought fairly pricey hardware, and yet, technically cannot buy our software by itself - which leaves us in a completely different position. So try to understand that if you are not running HD

Again, if this whole thing shakes out to something like Waves WUP where you pay the fee (SAME NO MATTER WHAT VERSION YOU ARE ON) when you need the new stuff, then fine. NO PROBLEM.

They really need to make everything clear. As it sits right now, I have more incentive to sit and wait. Honestly, I'd rather have information and make a sound, well informed, investment/purchase.

**************

At the end of the day, I'll spend the money if/when I need to. And, I'll probably opt to just sit back and wait till I need to make a move, and shell out whatever that is, rather than stay on an annual thing (I don't want to upgrade every year anyway - when my system is working, I want to keep it that way - which it currently is) ... I make my living with this equipment - so I'm not really complaining about the $ ... more about the principles of it... I don't like this sort of business....

pisses me off that someone on 9 gets the same thing I get for their $599 when I already shelled for current version already... they skipped some bills others have had to pay. Why? Pisses off those that never got that kind of break. Not a good way to do business - it's a bit beyond a 'sale' or small incentive.... amounts to thousands in some cases. good way to rub a lot of people the wrong way

HD9 to HD10 = $1000
HD10 to HD11 = $599
HD11 support plan = $599
= $2198

HD9 to HD11 now (includes support plan and 12) = $599

Quite the sale I would say!
