Default trouble when setting MIDI banks

Hello friends,

I use DIGI 001, my synthsizer is YAMAHA S90, I use the USB midi cable to connect my PC(windows XP) and the synthsizer. In PTLE 6.1, when I try to set the bank(control 0 and 32), a dialog box pops up as " Access Violation Occurred".

BTW, I've bought this device 2 years ago, I always use Cubase to handle it by ASIO driver. The system cubase+ASIO+digi001 seems worked very well. Now I finally got PTLE6.1, but I found many problems when working in pro tools LE. Does any body use Cubase too? I'd like to confirm how pro tools LE works better then Cubase with digi001. I wonder if I should give up the idea to study pro tools LE? You know in cubase workspace, there are not any problems, no dialog box, no wrong, no blue screen, no popup warn, It looks really stabilized in windows systems.

I hope some body can tell me about them.

another problem added:

could not complete the "Quit" command because Access Violation Occurred.

Now I can exit the PTLE, what can I do?

One of the main problems is that you are using a very old version of the software. Admittedly, Pro Tools didn't handle MIDI very well back then, but the newer versions have made great improvements in that area. To use the versions that have better MIDI capabilities, you would need a new interface, though. The 001 can only use up to version 6.4

If you want/need to stick with the 001, you may want to upgrade to the latest version available for you:
  1. Download and install 6.4
  2. Download and install the 6.4cs6 plugin update
  3. Download and install the 6.4cs9 program update
  4. Download and install the Documentation
  5. Download and install the latest PACE interlok drivers

Also, make sure that any plugins that you are using are up to date. Bad/outdated plugins have been known to cause similar problems.
