Default My 1st 001 mix - comments?

HI - this is my first mix with my recently aquired 001 - any comments would be appreciated.
No synths, samples or virtual instruments.

(It's in Real PLayer format on this website)

I tried to go there and listen to it. Its difficult to find and DL, maybe its just me, but try to idiot proof the process. I think that is the reason no one has responded. As most of us are PT users and PT is not OS X ready yet, we are mostly running 9.1 or 9.22. The realone media player requires OS X, at least that is what the page pop up message told me. So I wasn't in the mood to reboot into X, just to listen to the file. As PT pros, as you know, we are all sick or re-booting every 10 minutes; especially if it isn't a money making re-boot. You gotta' lead these horses to water, then make it a one click process to drink....

Just my thoughts 2¢ worth...

Best Regards

e

my real player works fine on this mac, G 400 system 9.1 but won't work on my G4 466 running 9.2 and I can't figure out why.

The recording sounded like I was standing at the back of a dance hall listening to it. Too much reverb? I'm not sure what type of effect you are trying to achieve. Sounds like it needs some outboard compression. The lead guitar is lost. Try running it through a 737 or other preamp and compress it a bit. Take some of the verb off. One of the better recordings I've heard on an 001.

Interesting lyrics.

Thank you very much for your comment - I do have the tendancy to hide in a wet mix, you are spot on; I cut back a lot of verb and delay, and the mix is much punchier now. Anybody else?
