PLEASE HELP! My IMAC Wont Recognise my Mbox

Please help, i've recently bought an iMAC 17" 2.0 with 1GB RAM, an mbox 2 with Pro Tools Le 7.0 and an M-Audio Axiom 49 midi

controller keyboard. The problem I have is that despite following the instructions step by step the usb light on my mbox wont light

up. The other lights come on and are constant so there is definately power going into the box. The mbox shows in the system

preferences panel but you cant open it. I read on another forum that on some macs the usb light doesnt light up untill you launch

Pro Tools - so, that's what i did. When I try to open Pro Tools a black screen descends and a dialogue box appears telling me that I

need to restart my machine which just puts me back to square 1. I'm aware of the hotplugging issues with some digidesign

hardware and i've tried a variety of combinations of reeboot and connections but unfortunately to no avail. I only bought the gear to

do some recording and composition and it's useless to me otherwise.

You need to download and install the Intel compatible version of Pro Tools 7.1.1, available here:
