Default Digi003 on a new IMac Buffer issues

I am running a Digi003 Rack Factory on a brand new IMac.

I was recording a single person speaking yesterday and kept getting an error that the buffers were overflowed and direction to reduce buffer size. Once I lowered the buffer to 64, I was able to record for more than 4 minutes. After recording, I began to edit the audio and received new error that the buffer size had to be increased. Once I increased the buffer, I was able to edit and mix without any issues.

The IMac has a single firewire port so there is no option of moving ports. The Digi003 is the only device on the firewire chain as well.

Has anyone else had this problem with the Digi003 on an IMac ?

I had to use a very short firewire cable to get the interface to work with the IMac when I first set up the system. The cable that came with the system would not work.

Has anyone seen this type of behavior out of a digi interface ?

Thanks,
Rob

Yes, we've actually seen this on a few occasions.

Are you saying that you're not getting any more errors with the shorter cable?

If so, can you give us a complete system spec? It will help us in diagnosing the problem with longer cables.

The IMac will not even recognize the Digi003 if I use a cable longer than 3 feet (approx).

The issues I am seeing with the buffer errors is running the interface on this shorter cable.

I will give all the info necessary if you can just tell me what you need to troubleshoot.

Thanks,
Rob
