Default 5 Years

5 years ago today I registered for the DUC.
Through the years I've gone from an old analog
dog to a functional Pro Tools user. I can say
without doubt, 90 percent of my DAW skills came
from participating in this forum.
Just wanted to say Thank You.

5 years for you and Davec on the same day.

Being a long time member myself I must admit that I have gotten a TON of info and help from the DUC community. One of the best forums I have seen where many members go way beyond the call of duty. I started with the 001 and PIII 850. The system has expanded to a 002, Control 24 and quad Opteron. Couldnt have done it without alot of help from this place.

But dont forget, Rail has been here for 36 years!!! He registered in 1969!

Shane

(And by the way, I still have the PIII and 001 )

I was using a PIII 800 and recording to the system drive...
Here's my first test result from page 2 of the Performance thread:
Quote:
05/08/01 12:01 AM

Win 98SE
PT Version: 5.1
Tracks: 13
MOBO: Abit bx-133
CPU: P3 800EB
RAM: 256 PC133
Drives:1x 7200 IDE ATA/66

My test results have improved a bit.
The PIII is long gone but my
001 is still going to work everyday.

I've been using Cubase as a bridge between
the Nuendo studio I'm tracking at, and my
PTLE sessions. (CB reads Nuendo project files.)
It really screams with the 001 hardware.

Unfortunately though, it's not Pro Tools,
which is still my preference.
I'd pay the price of the M-Powered software
if Digi would sell me an 001 version of 7.0.

Yep, 5 years to the day (although I was an a subatical for 2 of those years). I've seen the DUC grow tremendoudly since I started out. PTLE Windows 001 users we're few and far between and now the group has prospered tremendously thx to the participation of alot of members on this board (too many to mention).

The big PLUS in all this is we give newbies a heck of alot of vital information to get started and thus promote PT for Digi which turns out to be a win-win situation for all. I've definately been rejouvinated by the participation this forum has come to be and I cross my fingers I never have to give it up again...

Thanks to all that have eased me back into the flow of things (not quite there yet) and have given nothing but positive remarks to really make me feel welcomed again. I hope some day I can repay the favours to you all in some form or another.

I do have to thank ShanJ especially for shifting me from neutral to at least 3 or 4th gear after my long absence. He's been an unrelenting help and support colleague since my return.

Thx again to all and this trully is a community that I am honoured to be a part of...
