Default PT 2020 to require Mojave and drop High Sierra support?

Does anyone know whether the to-be-released 2020 PT update will drop High Sierra support and require Mojave to run?

I have a reasonable suspicion that it will, but this will put all 5,1 cheese graters out of the game. Unless upgraded with a Metal graphics card, so should I start looking around?

I would be surprised if this were the case. We should be good at least until Apple releases OS 10.16

EuControl 2020.1 drops Sierra, but keeps High Sierra compatibility. Hopefully you should be good, for now.

There's absolutely no reason for that to happen unless Avid code 20 with metal hardware acceleration.

The pattern has been PT supports three latest OS versions and PT year number has nothing to do with it. So therefore I would expect 2020.x will still support High Sierra.

I spent less than $100 each upgrading my cheese graters to metal-capable video cards. Not the end of the line for the cheesemakers yet!

I hope there will be stable solution to install Catalina on 5.1. I never has any problems and still have alot of power with 2xquad 2.26 mhz. I really don’t want to move to 2013 mac or Windows. 2019 Macs are so overprices for me.

If the GPU is Metal compatible it is safe to try. Have done this to as old as 2010 Mac Mini
