Default Outboard reverb connecting to 003

I am trying to get my Yamaha SPX-90 hooked up to my 003. I have the #8 output connected to it and i am getting a feed to it (shows input signal level on SPX-90) but i can't seem to get it back into a session. The 003 manual says to use analog inputs (such as 7&8). I have connected the SPX-90's L/R outputs to analog inputs 7&8 and when i add an Aux in to my session it won't see the input signal from the SPX. I put the SPX outputs into the Aux in on the 003 and i hear the reverb, but i want to have this be part of the session so that when i bounce to disc the reverb is there. I want to use this instead of a plug in reverb. I have tried using an instrument input channel as well as an AUX channel but i am having no luck. I have tried assigning this as an interface as well as a bus on the input of these channels with no luck. I hope someone can help me. The manual is a bit vague on this.

In Pro Tools go to setup>I/O>Input Tab>Click Default. Then click default in Output & Bus Tabs then>OK

Keep the L/R from SPX-90 to 003 channels 7&8 and on a Stereo Aux channel select inputs 7&8.

You might also use a stereo AUDIO track and record the reverb into the session(so its permanent). Handy if at some later date, you want to use the SPX again for another effect in the same session. Personally, I would just get a better reverb plugin and skip all the hassle. Breverb, IK Classik reverbs and the Lexicon LXP bundles are excellent on a budget(as is Redline from 112db). I have(in the past) used a hardware verb for effects on vocal during tracking, by splitting the output of an external preamp so it feeds both Pro Tools, and the reverb input
