Best video out option for ProTools 11?
I have an (early 2009) Mac Pro with a HDX2 system in it - and I wan't to be able to see video on at dedicated monitor (a 46" Sony LCD TV). Looking at the Black Magic Dechlink Mini Monitor.
Is that good? Do any of you have a different idea? I really only need HDMI out.

The DeckLink HD Extreme 3D is the fully supported option. It has a daughter card with HDMI output.

Hi Jonathan.
Dosen't "your card" take up two PCIe slots? I already have two HDX cards in (as I wrote in the first post) and only one left out of the three. Or I am wrong? Will it fit? I all for "fully supported".

Re: Best video out option for ProTools 11?
Yes and no. Yes, you need to give up two slot openings to the outside of the computer for the DeckLink card. No, the card only requires one PCIe slot on the logic board.
HDX cards only occupy one slot, both on the logic board and to the outside of the computer. I had an HD|2 Accel before HDX, and I had the Accel Core, Accel, and DeckLink installed in the CPU. This required 3 PCIe slots on the logic board and four slot openings to the outside of the computer.

Re: Best video out option for ProTools 11?
Thanks Chief,
But is there a reason that I should go with the HD Extreme 3D? Aren't all BlackMagic cards fully supported? I really only need playback (HDMI) to my sony flat screen.

Only with v11 and later. v10.3.8 and earlier were only tested and qualified with the DeckLink HD Extreme card.
