Revolution 7.1 Soundcard??

I have a revolution 7.1 Soundcard.
It seems to have problems with protools free
If i have the revolution soundcard selected for output i get a big loud static noise as soon as the program is launched...?? Input also gives a message about not having some kind of channel i think(im at work now can't get the message) Does anybody run ptfree with this soundcard? Any tips? Thanks
I run a g4 733 os 9.2
