Default Considering Downgrading To OS X 10.8

Hello,

I've been having troubles since I got OS X 10.9.1 & PT 11.1.2 on my MacBook Pro (13-inch mid 2009, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz, OS version: OS X 10.9.1, Avid hardware model: Eleven Rack 2.0.1, Pro Tools version: 11.1.2, RAM installed: 8GB) which isn't "supported", but worked fine with OS X 10.8 and PT 11.0.2, so...

I do have a Time Capsule setup but have never used it before, so...
I just wanna make sure that's the only way to go without losing anything.

Thank y'all for your help!

One way to find out. You are pushing it with the 2008 Mac. You might have gotten lucky to get that working.

It's a 2009, SpinningDisk. Not 2008, but still you may be right.
I really don't wanna do the whole downgrade-thing.
Thank you, SpinningDisk.
Anybody?

I don't blame you on the downgrade. Know one likes to downgrade. 2009 oops😊
Someone will chime in.
Good luck.

Fwiw I don't like to do the upgrade thing - b/c I know what I have works - no mysteries

However when I upgrade I don't know what pitfalls await -

PT 10.3.7 and 10.8.4 solid every time I turn it on.

I do have a 11.1.2 and 10.9.1 setup (partition) but don't use it - too much maybe when slate come into the AAX fray and my UAD's aren't beta

That and I have a ton of songs that were tracked in 10 so I won't jump till I'm finished with them. (It just makes life easier)

On topic
I would clone my 10.9.1 drive to an external b/F I start that way if I want it back it's easy-peasy

Yeah gin should know about carbon copy or superduper - I use ccc just b/c it used to be free

Excellent and easy to use - I have a 2TB storage drive and I have 2- 256gb partitions one with 10.8.4 and the other with 10.9.1

Both bootable - so it's easy to switch / once you have this setup you get spoiled / MacBook's should be able to do this via external drives

Ouch, all that technical stuff!!!
So, I have to do all that before downgrading it, as if the downgrade itself isn't technical enough for me? Hehe...
