tracks flambing - delay compensation?
I'm having an annoying issue in PT 11.3.2 - I will, for example, hear the snare close-mic and then a split second later i'll hear the overheads.
This seemed to start literally out of nowhere. The other confusing part is that sometimes when I open the session, the issue won't be there. Then after several minutes of mixing, it re-surfaces. Any thoughts? Thanks. |

Re: tracks flambing - delay compensation?
As long as ADC values are within limits (not red), you should be good.
Try to change buffer size in the playback engine next time it happens.

I remember a thread you started back in 2016 where you were losing tracks and you never got back to us if you solved the problem and how. What I'm getting at is this might not be a system problem but pilot error. |

Re: tracks flambing - delay compensation?
I've discovered a workaround but I still don't have an explanation for what the issue was.
Basically, the signal chain was as follows: SnareTop output to Bus 6 (SnareSub) Bus 6 output to Bus 1-2 (drumGroup) The overheads went directly to Bus 1-2. When I simply changed SnareTop output to bus 1-2, everything lined up just fine. There is clearly an issue with that bus6 not being delay compensated. My system is PT 11.3.2 - MacBook Pro (mid 2012), OS Sierra 10.12.5 |

Re: tracks flambing - delay compensation?
Thanks for that info regarding compatibility.. I honestly didn’t realize that.
Maybe time to just jump to PT 12... |

Re: tracks flambing - delay compensation?
Double bus routing is known to cause compensation problems AFAIK.
