How'd it turn out, did you feel you got something that was close enough?? What Rectifier setting did you end up going with??

Might be worthwhile dropping a line with Waves & IK or whoever asking them to add a sidechain to their plugins. It's a pretty glaring omission. I know Waves PIE can really do with one too!!

I do have the SPL Iron though. It's fundamentally based on a similar design, but they took it a lot further. It, at least, has a sidechain and by setting it's Bias to High and choosing a good Rectifier setting you can kind of get close. As long as you aren't one to split hairs!!
I think it's possible to use Waves Fairchild inside Studio Rack, and create a side chain.

Edit: sorry, you mean external sidechain, I don't know if it's possible, I was thinking about creating a multiband split in Studiorack and a kind of side chain filter...
