CUSTOM FADERS JUSTIFICATION Please Help.
Hi:
All these years I´ve been using my custom faders to the left and right of the board (32 faders D control). Now I decided to put them towards the centre, but when I tried to change the justification nothing happens. It only allows me to set the faders right or Left, when I set them LCF or RCF nothing moves. By the way I am using 8 fader groups. Does anyone know what the problem is. I am running Pro tools 8.1 |

Re: CUSTOM FADERS JUSTIFICATION Please Help.
Have you declared your units in the correct left to right order in the peripherals drop down? Left most should be the first drop down, then left to right down that list. That dramatically effects justification and its where most folks go wrong.

Re: CUSTOM FADERS JUSTIFICATION Please Help.
Brent: Thanks for your response.
That wouldn´t make sense, ´cause then all my tracks would be in the wrong order, but anyway I double checked just in case and everything was ok. If I reverse the order in which the faders are declared then I just get centre left when I try to justify my custom faders to the right and centre right when I justify them to the left. Everyone still following? thanks

Re: CUSTOM FADERS JUSTIFICATION Please Help.
Hey Fermez,
Set everything for the controller to factory default. There's a reset in the utility menus. Then - like Brent says - make sure you declare the units in the correct order in the peripherals menu (L to R = top to bottom) So if you have 32 faders left of your main unit that would be : fader 1 fader 2 main if you have the main unit in the middle (which I think is your case) : fader 1 main fader 2 If you now go into the CF prefs - the default should be set to 8 and you should be able to go justify the block of 8 Left or center left and so on for the Left and right custom faders. The issue you may be having is that along the line of using the unit, you changed the preference for number of channels to 16 or min16. Especially with this last one - if it is set to min 16, it will not always fill up the entire bank of faders - which is exactly what you are asking it to do of course but - if you then go in and try to change the bank justification it will not change anything if your setup only has 16 faders left or right of the main unit. That's why it is probably best to do a quick reset to default to make sure nothing else is preventing the bank from justifying to the correct side. Hope that helps. Let me know if it doesn't. Chris

Thanks Chris. I also tried that yesterday without any luck. This morning I reseted the firmware in the whole unit, after updated the firmware again the justification started working.
Thanks to all for your help
