Default Playback Midi Files in Protools 7.4 M-Powered and ProjectMix I/O

Hello,

I'm a new user of Pro Tools, and I'm missing something. I can include a midi files in a Pro Tools session, but when I try to play it back, I hear no sound at all.

I can include an Mp3 file and that would playback just fine, but not the Midi file.

I can play Midi files trough my onboard sound card, using winamp for example... But cant get it to work on Pro Tools trough ProjectMix.

Do I have to do any special configuration on Pro Tools? Or in ProjectMix?
Do I have to insert any plugin in order to listen to the midi file?

I'll apreciate any help...

What MIDI sound module are you using? (if you don't know, that is your problem).

Well, you don't have to use a plugin, but you are going to need some kind of MIDI sound module to be able to convert the MIDI data into audio.

Xpand! would be what you're looking for, as would Structure Free.

You can order a copy of Xpand! on the Digistore (you just pay for shipping).

You can get Structure here:
