question about looping and clicks and pops?
hi, can someone help me? when i try to loop bass lines, there is a click or a pop when it loops. is there a way to fade them together so the pop goes away? or is the take bad and i should re-record it?
also, could someone tell me a way to smooth out or remove a note or drum for a take smoothly? it pops also just like when i try to loop something. thanks |

Re: question about looping and clicks and pops?
If you zoom right in to the loop, you can make sure it begins and ends right on the central line that runs across the track. If the loop cuts across a sample, you'll hear click/pop. This often fixes things.
You could also try the various cross-fade options. There are probably ways of doing this in a 'smart' way, which I'm not sure about. |

Re: question about looping and clicks and pops?
Determine if the click is at the beginning or the end of the loop and put a very short fade-in or out there by zooming way in. You can then consolidate that region to get rid of the fade.
This same technique would apply when you've removed a drum hit, although it's more difficult to smooth out the drop in ambience once the spot is empty. Sometimes copying/pasting from another similar point in the track that doesn't have the extra hit will work.
