Default Any way to assign a Control/Alt Command?

I'm looking for a way to assign the Control and Alt Commands to soft keys on my MC Control. So far, just assigning the command open ended (which is what I need) isn't working.

I tried Ctrl +, Ctrl +Keypad, Ctrl + Enter, Win Cmd + Enter, Ctrl + Win Cmd + Keypad and Ctrl + Win Cmd + Enter. By then it started opening the navigator help window. so, I'm assuming you can't assign the control function to a soft key. But I wanted to check here before I totally gave up on the idea.

Is there any way to do this?

Are you using the "Key" command or "EUCON" command to assign the action? I've had greater success using the EuCon OS modifiers versus using the key commands for combos like that.

Thanks, that's worth a shot. To be clear, I'm trying to make Control and Alt buttons ON my MC Control. I want to see if THAT will allow me to select randoms tracks for "Snapshots," like I can when using my QWERTY keyboard and trackball combination.
