Trim-Fade with Smart Tool

Apologies if you know this already, but I just stumbled across it and thought I'd share.

When using the smart tool to make fade ins and outs on a region that has been trimmed, you can drag away from the region to trim it out and fade it at the same time.

Has it always been like this? I've read the manual, as well as a number of other reference guides to Pro Tools, and I don't remember ever coming across this feature, but maybe I just missed it. It always amazes me what functionality is lying there, waiting for you to use it.

I do believe I've read about this, but I've never used it. Sounds like a useful feature.
