Pencil tool in PT8

I was able to reproduce this on my system.

Though I tend to take my time anyway while using the pencil tool, I don't think it should force the user to work slower.

I guess all you can do for now is work slower with the pencil. Hopefully Digidesign will do something to fix this.

Yes, it's a bug and has been logged for a fix.

That only workaround, as noted, is to move the cursor slowly...

I'm having what seems to be a variation on the broken pencil when attempting to draw out mouth clix.

Running PT8LE on an 003, selecting most pencil profiles (including my usual freehand) doesn't display a pencil, it shows a hand--and won't redraw the waveform at any zoom or speed. Two profiles display a pencil, but won't redraw the waveform at any zoom or speed.

I've been routinely using this tool since v5.1 on Mac/PC/TDM/HD/LE This feature works fine on my current HD system (also running PT8) but something seems broken on LE.

Well, it's been a while...
I've been looking for a customer support update to address the pencil tool issue, but to no avail.
That's the thing: Moving the cursor very slow compensates for the bug, though the curve begins to lack roundness and naturalness.
I know it might not be the most important problem to take care of,
but it's rather frustrating to see that we need back a PT 7.4 functionality,
in spite of all your team's efforts to make PT8 the better product it really is most of the time.
Hoping for a CS release soon...
