This has been happening for as long as Smack's been around, and it still happens on 9.0.3. It's not a DSP cache or PCI bandwidth issue - happens on large and small sessions, and it's not TDM slot related either. Anyone have any other info on this? Major PITA since Smack does some very nice things...

Happens to me all the time.

I also like Smack a lot for many things. It never ceases to amaze me that Smack, Revibe, and Tape Suite are the buggiest plugs I have, yet are made by Digi/Avid.

Wow.

I've had an answer from techsupport about this issue :
(that an french to english translation)

Indeed, we were able to reproduce the problem. It is reported in our database with reference to TST-2148 and could potentially be resolved in a future update.

According to tests, it seems to come from a problem of sharing resources between DSP EQ7, Smack! and Heat. The problem can be resolved promptly through the following:

- Disable the plug-in and re-activate it
- Or Go to Options and uncheck "Activate HEAT 'then reselect
- And finally, click and move the controller 'input' plug-in smack!.

I'm pretty certain this issue has been around before HEAT was even available...

Actually, I'm pretty sure Smack has been around since before EQIII!

So I'm not buying that explanation, Avid.

Ehh, I remember plugins doing this since at least v 5.x. Sansamp used to do it all the time.

Do you have revibe in your session? That has caused some dsp issues

Same exact situation with me. Smack! It's always on my drums for parallel comp. Happened twice to me on recalls. I about pulled all my hair out till I figured it out. Yeah the disable/re-enable works but what a PIA. I remember the same BF76 issue in PT5 before it was free. F'ed me up on recalls then too.
I didn't notice this issue till I started using PT9 and HEAT.
Avid, what's going on here? This post has been up for a year now.
