TCM,

I have no graphics card booster just the NVDIA drivers witch are needed on my system.

The Realtek High Definition driver can't really be turned off I see, when I turn it off the default audio device becomes digi 002, seems ok at first but in the PT task window (browser) I can't use audio preview I noticed.
I'm going to try and uninstall them and see if I can change it to windows legacy drivers.

Thanks for your help though, cheers

some further testing results is equal to no result...

I disabled everything that I possibly could disable in startup, services and hardware manager but no result just like I had before. For a second I thought it was my wireless mouse but a wired mouse gives the same results and even worse.
I know it's not recommended by digi but I really don't see any improvement.
I do notice the errors are more frequently when solo buttons are enabled or when scrolling the mix or edit window. 9092, 9093, 9094, 6085
Also did a reinstall of PT yesterday but no result, I'm really getting desperate here...

The last thing I can think is " Is there a way to allocate the FW buss to it's own IRQ?" my bios doesn't let me but I was wondering there's a way to do it in the registry? thanks

I don't think this can be done in the registry, but moving it to a different slot might do the trick.

Just another suggestion:

try to disable the HD Audio in BIOS.

And use the system information utility in Windows>Programs>Accessories>system tools to see if there are some IRQ conflicts, or if the firewire IRQ is shared by another device!

I can't disable it in my bios, but I found the Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio in the device manager/system devices but I dont see any improvement in PT. As I thought so, In pt 7 I always had the onboard audio enabled and never had an issue.

There some device that share the same IRQ channel of the FW host though, IRQ 17

(PCI) 17 Intel(R) ICH8 4 port Serial ATA Storage Controller - 2820
(PCI) 17 Intel(R) ICH8 Family PCI Express Root Port 2 - 2841
(PCI) 17 Intel(R) ICH8 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 2835
(PCI) 17 Intel(R) ICH8 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 2831
(PCI) 17 NVIDIA Geforce 8800M GTX
(PCI) 17 Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller

That's why I asked if there's a way to put the IEEE 1394 Host Controller on it's own IRQ. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11, 14, 15 are free. I just tried to put the ACPI Multiprocessor PC to standard PC but that screwed my quad core to one core, resulting in a CPU overload in PT right away.

Disabling the NVIDIA card didn't resolve it either and the rest I need for my system to run smoothly i guess.

Does your BIOS allow you to dedicate specific IRs to devices?

So far so good (gonna knock on wood though) the 6085 did not happen all day long so far after the 8.0.1 update, only a bunch of 9094 errors when dragging midi notes during playback. I really hope it stays this way so I can leave a couple months of frustrating sessions behind.
