Default Does it matter what x79 board I pick?

I'm planning on grabbing an asus p9x79 LE with a 3820 will I pass with it? Some people seem to pick a more expensive version of this board.

One of the diffs is if you need firewire...like me...so the Asus x79 Sabertooth is what I went with, and it works great running my Tascam DM4800 and PT 10.3.3 in native mode. It's the Mobo i/o options you want to investigate including what kind of Ram you want to spec.

Yeah I think one was dual memory and another was quad channel - If I remember right

I was looking at the same P79 board as well I think the main differences was the USB 3 also - which u want

I can't comment on the P9X79 LE version or any of the more expensive versions of the P9X79, but I have the basic P9X79 and it works very well. The firewire has a VIA chipset though, so you may want to get a PCIe card with a TI chipset if you plan on using firewire devices. I do not use anything firewire.

Never know about that - via chipset. - I'm running A Gigabyte GA-x79-ud5 with that via chipset - I have a Sig card with those TI chipsets but its running pretty solid on 10.8.2 - so I don't even have it installed

U never know what u will get
