Rendering Elastic Audio

I am currently recording with Pro Tools SE 8 and it said something about rendering track and something about an elastic recording. Also on my computer it pulls up a Task Manager showing that its analyzing audio for each recording. Would anyone know if that would create a problem and if it is possible to stop the analyzing?
