Can MBOX3 be damaged by hot swapping?
I experienced a dramatic loss in output volume after running registry scan
after receiving run time error messages when trying to import audio in PT10. I opened a session and noticed a volume decrease of over 50%. I re-installed the Mbox3 Driver , checked my control panel settings to make sure the MBOX was selected as my recording and playback device, and then uninstalled and re-installed PT10. Still the same. Is it possible that the MBOX 3 could have been damaged by hot swapping when trying to rectify a previous problem wherein PT defaulted to a PodXt as the playback and recording device. Hopefully the Mbox three is bullet proof, as some WAV files I've played outside of PT sound fairly normal. Any insight would be welcome. Also PT 10 will not open PT 8.0.5 sessions saying "Could not open complete the open session .....command because while translating tracks". Which makes no sense at all.Starting to have second thoughts about upgrading my PC and PT as I've now spent two weeks trying to stabilise it. So is the MBOX safe? Why would the output drop so dramatically? Thanks. |

Re: Can MBOX3 be damaged by hot swapping?
It seems like the MBOX3 is o.k. I've lost just about all of my wrapped plug-ins that worked perfectly with 8.0.5 and have reverted to 9.0.5. Many of my old sessions will no longer open and I get messages saying there was a translation error plus plenty of DAE -7400 errors and the odd blue scree when trying to open a plug-in. I think I'll start messing around with Reaper and see whether it might become a user friendly alternative.
