Just a note to wreckthis place :
The DAE setting should be left at 2 except for special circumstance. Any setting other than 2 has been known to cause stability issues.

unless there is a way to import session data from pro tools 7 sessions into pro tools 6.9.2. anyone?

WTP... Launch PT7, then "Save Copy In"...5.0 to 6.9.

Setup:
Mac G5 Dual 2.0 GHz (M9747)
2,5 GB RAM
OSX 10.4.3
Digi002Rack (Power Harness replaced Aug 2005)
Internal, original 160 GB 7200 rpm drive with 2 partitions: one for OS & apps, one for audio
No other FireWire gear connected
USB: Logitech powered hub with Apple Pro Keyboard, Optical Mouse, MidiSport 2x2 midi interface.

Software:
ProTools LE 7.0
Plugins: Digiracks, TRacks EQ, Amplitube LE, SampleTank SE, PSP Vintage Meter, Miroslav Philharmonik, Native Instruments Akoustik Piano, Garritan Personal Orchestra, EastWest Quantum Leap RA + Colossus
(Lots of other unrelated software is installed on this Mac, but I shure hope that doesn't affect PT!)

Issues:
-Very frequent session stops due to sudden CPU spikes, although CPU-meter is running low at average (30%)
-Sessions that played well in 6.9.2 choke i 7.0 (no other plugins than the above)
-Frequent loss of contact with Digi002R, especially when loading/unloading lots of samples into RAM. (This could be the harness again (sigh) or a poor FW-port on the G5, but it seems to happen more often now than before the upgrade)

The most evident difference visavi 6.9.2 are the sudden and unexpected CPU spikes in 7.0 that will stop the session.
I've been using PTLE on Mac for many years so I know and have tried all the usual troubleshooting stuff.

PS: I'm writing a long review article about PTLE7.0 for two major swedish magazines, and I'd hate to say anything bad about my favourite DAW...

You need to remove all 3rd party plug-ins and run Pro Tools. Create a new session -- if it's stable, start adding the plug-ins one by one.

You have incompatible plug-ins.

When I say "remove" I mean take them out of the DAE Plug-ins folder.

Hello Rail,
I am just wondering if you are having any problems with Pro Tools 7 LE under the MAC OS?

If not, I would really appreciate it if you could list the plugins that you are currently using.

Thank you
