Default satan lives in the mbox
unbeleivable loud ear-blowing freakout sound comes from the mbox. I was using it, editing for hours, no problem, then I switched to filemaker pro to check some data related to my work and when i went back to pt and hit play, this 95db (at least) white noise knocked me off my seat. This is not the first time i have heard this. I did a search and I know this happens to others. Any fix yet????? jesus...

Under OSX, yes!!
Its a problem with the Core Audio.
Ive seen this happen with Reason.

Are you by any chance using any Waves plugins? A sudden burst of hellish noise has been a known problem for some users. If you're using Waves, email support and ask for the Waveshell-DAE 4.0.1 patch. That fixed it for me.
