Default Windows 8 and C-600

Hi all,

I see there is not a driver for Windows 8 yet, I am curious if there is one in the works. Right now, as I've found others posting in different forums, when you boot into Windows 8 (or resume), the M-audio c-600 (and probably c-400) doesn't work. Worse, all video stutters very badly. The only fix right now seems to be to unplug and replug the USB cable back into the audio device. Then everything works fine, including audio.

Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a driver in the works to fix this problem for Windows 8, as well as if there may be another work around.. some setting or something in windows 8 to fix this?

I would have thought with windows 8 being developed for some time that there would be a windows 8 driver already. Surprised a company of Avid's caliber doesn't have a driver ready yet.

As far as I know, Windows 8 isn't qualified to run with PT yet, and M-audio was sold off over the summer (I think).

Since you mention resume.... you should not suspend or sleep a computer with a pro tools interface attached. You need to power down that device first. This is a limitation in many digi/avid device drivers. I do not know for sure about the C-400 but I would not assume suspend/sleep works with these interfaces. And this is a reason you are supposed to disable power management/suspend/sleep in your computer.
