Re: Heat
I love Heat and i often wonder if i should try Phoenix...
Do they complement one each other? I never took the time to demo Phoenix. |

No need. Same developer and basically the same product only implemented in Pro Tools. |

Re: Heat
Heat is fantastic. I wouldn't want to mix without it after using it for a few years. Definitely hear a huge difference when it's bypassed. CPU hit isn't even 1% on my computer.

Re: Heat
With Phoenix, you'd be able to treat tracks differently. There are also A LOT more options with the full plugin. 5 differently algos, each with a neutral, bright and dark option.

Re: Heat
It's also nice to be able to have this color on other than just Audio Tracks.

Re: Heat
I demoed Phoenix and really liked it. I didn't end up buying it, but it was a great trial.
It's on my wish list. Same with the vinyl plugin Dave Hill makes.

Re: Heat
Thank you all for your responses. I have HEAT on demo at the moment and am finding it eminently useable.
A combo of HEAT on the tracks and UAD Studer A800 on the busses with a touch of UAD Ampex ATR on the MixBus sounds great. Gonna have to bone up for this one, I think! John

Re: Heat
both. Keep in mind HEAT was developed in 2006 to work on DSP only and to take up as little of it as possible I would assume. It's not hard to imagine some compromises being struck. But I wasn't there.
