Default Dealing with Phase

I'm not sure this video qualifies as "tips&tricks" but I have written a description of the mix philosophy of the congas I'm currently working with, and I think it might be of some use to folks that are just getting started with multi-miked recordings.

And you already know how useful Magnetic II is! If people want to hear it, I can link to the full video when it is done.

I've got a few that we've done.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tctW3dLdWEM

We're in the process of making a half-dozen more. Maybe not the best renditions overall, but each one is comprised of a single audio take. Had a mic stand issue at 0:32 on the first one, where the vocal mic sagged the stand (AKG 820 is heavy!) I ran in there and fixed it, but the video guys missed the cue. It kinda breaks the immersion a bit, but the audio is actually a single take.

Sweet

Is that in your studio or did you record in another place? Looks nice and cool songs.

I am gonna upload our new song for release in march so you can hear what we do when we aren't writing for american popstars which really pays the bills and my cars and house and boat etc etc but it isn't as fun as releasing something we have done from start. Signed and written and produced (we have started to sign new fresh artists in the making) that will be released via UMG and published by our own label so I will post that in the thread where others post music

Hopefully next week so please comment when you listened to it.

Thanks for sharing that Mesaone

Not my own studio, but I am fortunate enough to have access to an amazing facility, and I have friends that exchange videography for studio time. Everything you see is zero-cost. This video was recorded in a studio with an SSL 9000k with a CLASP system (and all the tubetech hardware that we buy plug-ins to mimic) and there is so much more in the other rooms.

Wanna lend me your boat? I want to re-enact a Lonely Island skit.
