Default Audio File Metadata - toggle off???

Hi all, is there a way to turn off reading "audio file metadata"? This happens everytime I open a new session and right-click a region. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong that makes this keep happening, even on sessions that I close out of for a few hours.

On film sessions this takes soooooo long. A bit of a drag when editing and def a drag when clients are sitting behind you.

I agree, this is annoying.
They should defintely make this a background task, running at low priority when you open the session.

It's really bad when the session is in playback when this happens. You cannot stop it and it takes even longer.

Yeah I was wondering what that was all about... it should happen in the task manager when the session first opens
