#1-they all lay the console nearly flat, which makes it very hard to read/see anything without standing up and leaning over the surface.
#2-they usually have a great big bulky and thick front edge, which forces the keyboard and mouse to either be very low(usually on a pull-out shelf) or up on top of the arm rest.
In response to the comments above:

1. I did have the C24 for a long time on a regular table, the normal height of a table is 32" and that puts the level of the board at 36” . And yes, it was almost flat and it was sometimes hard to read the LCD displays just above the rotary encoders. I simply added a 30 inch long 1x1 piece of wood underneath that lifted the back of the board.
When I planned my desk, I did the same thing, the back part of where the board rest on the surface of the desk is higher than the front and the board is more inclined towards the front and the back is lifted a lot more. On my desk the board at the fader section is 32”. Problem solved.

2. I also planned to have the armrest since it is useful to be able to place your forearms and elbows on it, and because the C24 is only 3 inches deep before the faders, there is no room if you have bulky or long arms. Furthermore, after long sessions you definitely need to use the armrest.
I also did not want to use a pull-out shelf. The keyboard is definitely low. I had planned to route a hole in the middle of the arm rest to place the keyboard and to level it with the front end of the board. I have not done it since I want to change my old Pro Tools keyboard for a new slim version of it. And that will avoid having the keyboard on top of the arm rest. Problem solved.

3. I am also thinking in getting a mouse with a large track ball and route another cavity for it. But that is just in the future.
4. For now, I don’t have any problems reading the LCDs and having the keyboard and mouse on the arm rest really does not bother me.

WOW Camilo, that looks very expensive and suits the C24 as a glove

I would definitely pay to fix the unit as for one, a used in perfect condition is 4K and up and the setup you made is awesome so i disagree on buying something else. If you don't like the monitor section you have many alternatives to add to your studio for monitoring so not paying to get the unit fixed seem very illogical to me. All that IMHO of course.

Thanks, YYR123, southsidemusic. I did put a lot of effort to make it look as a factory desk. However, I guess you jumped from one thread to another.

Outstanding job man! That really turned out amazing! I also love watching the video as well. I'm glad you thought that through and took the time to document the process, as it's really cool to watch.
