Curious to how you would use it? I use reWire right now, don't like that you can't use 3rd party plug-ins. Maybe this is a solution?

Yeah. It not my favorite splash screen either. It is kind of underwhelming IMHO.

Best ever was PT7HD but that is so off-topic let's just leave it here.

Now that makes paying $399 this year for this update so worth it!

My $399 is being well spent (not). There are some serious product development deficiencies at AVID that are now beginning to make me doubt I have a cutting edge product. It is unlikely I will stop using PT but I am reconsidering whether it is worth my while having the subscription when there is really very little to shout from the mountain tops about.

At least there's one (1!) MIDI fix!

I've done some quick tests; it seems to open PT 5.1 and presumably later projects, but not 5.0. And with the 5.1 project it automatically converted the SDII files to wav. I had to use the open project menu and navigate to the 5.1 program to get it to open; simply double clicking the 5.1 project didn't work.

I proudly pay $400/year for occasional bug fixes and literally zero development effort. Way to go AVID!

Love the splash screen. Updated flatter look.

What a weak release. With Avid I generally keep my expectations low, but wow, underwhelming even for Avid. $320 a year I’m paying for these garbage updates. Not happy at all.
