Default How you handle your iloks so they wont get lost?

Do you have it in your bag? Do you have it with your keys? If so how you make it comfortable to remove them form your key chain and then put back again? All ideas welcome!

I keep mine with my ear molds. Does anybody put the ilok insurance through the ilok website? I was thinking of just insuring it with the rest of the equipment.

If you have second hand plugin licenses you may not get an replacement license as your copy is not actually registered to your name, so in case your insurance company is willing to insure the ilok that would be a wise thing to do I guess.

I look after 2 D-Shows, 2 Profiles, 1 Mixrack and an SC48. On the units with a FOH rack and the MixRack if you open the front panel there is an internal USB port where i mount the ilok for those CPU's. Then if the renter has additional plug-ins they use its up to them to keep track of their ilok. Most keep it with their smaart computer as they dont mix without it.

Most free lancers I see / know have them on neck straps together with their USB keys for file backups etc in combination with this type of 'mountain clip' :

There's never going to be a full proof anti theft / no way you're going to loose it is there ?
If having it inside the FOH rack isn't an option then the clip / neck strap thingy is the next best option I think.

That and a common sense of awareness.

I managed to forget my ilok at the studio for my first show on a D-Show system After the soundcheck was done I went to the studio to finish up on something and later returning to the venue I only realized I did not have an ilok with me like 10 minutes before the show.
Fortunately the console was on and all the plugs were running from the soundcheck.
