Default Importing multichannel wav?

I have a project coming up using a Sound Devices 688. It will record in a multichannel format as well as recording each channel on it's own wave file. If the project ends up being recorded as a polyphonic .wav file can I just drag it into PT or do I need to convert it somehow? Running PT 12.6 native non HD.

Thanks

You should be able to import poly files no problem.
I can't imagine it being an HD only feature.

I think multichannel is HD only, although I don't have a version I can check on. If you can't, sound devices wave agent can split multi's into mono files then you could import into PT12. It's free I believe.

Yes, it is an HD only feature.
I use Studio One for this; Presonus doesn't charge extra to import audio!

It turned out last Friday I was able to import the multichannel file directly into PT12.6 non HD by dragging it into the session. In the end I ended up recording on a Sound Devices 788.

I setup 10 mono tracks in PT and just dragged the .wav file onto the edit window and it split them out dropping one onto each track.

Just for laughs I tried it with an old version of Adobe Audition v3 I had and that worked the same. However Tracks Live gave me an import error.
