Default Re: Zebra2 and Sylenth

I can understand why people who are in the movie/TV and such use the omnisphere but you said we can hear that in all the songs today, show me tha then as we work with lots of DJ's like Axwell, Pier Poropat (who is my best friend aswell) and guys like ZEDD etc and none of these guys use Omnisphere as it sounds unlike anything I ever heard on dance/pop tracks. Maybe I am missing something but guys like Jordan Rudess and his pals aren't really making todays pophitsongs so no, we would never use that and if you wanna buy it go ahead, I said to each his own. We use what i listed in post nr 11 so no need to use VI that replicates something we already have and believe me, there ain't many producers of EDM/Dance who would wanna use synth sounds like the Jupiter and TX-816 etc as those sound Old, theres a huge difference by "sounding like" and just sounding old and flat. Many sounds might be awesome with Omnisphere but still haven't seen anyone we work and hang with use it for todays top EDM tracks and neither will we.

This whole discussion is open ended as we all have different standards and music styles and also where we are in the business so lets just agree to disagree on this one. We use these synths and VI's and that is good for us. Maybe not for you. We have all the VI's from Spectrasonics but don't use them in modern popsongs.

You can emulate any modern synth sound in possibly most of the EDM tracks you hear with omnisphere ...

But I agree that the stock sounds are old style sounds that are not used anymore by the famous EDM producers nowadays ... you should check some packs like Omnipulse ... for omnisphere

Thanks for the info. Just cause this turned out to be a longer debate than I thought I will actually start to look at this we have all the VI's from them so maybe a few expansions is what is needed

Thanks again for the info Bechara

Maybe its just me but I have a very hard time hearing how these 2 synths could be anywhere near each other comparing sounds etc ..

Check this out and please comment. This is the latest expansion from reFX

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iacd3UHAf-0

And this is the Omnisphere PluginGuru demo:
http://pluginguru.com/guru-products/omniverse-patches

I am not saying you "could not" make these sounds on Omnisphere but I serioulsy doubt it, however Omnisphere sounds might be a addition to Nexus2 for something later on but that you can do these kinda sounds on Omnisphere I would wanna hear that done so if you have anything that actually does compare please share

Omnisphere is for soundscapes and movie backgrounds. I dont see how you would use that for EDM or Trance or Club. Maybe you can program Omnisphere to sound like Nexus, but why bother when you can just go to Nexus.

I dont see the comparision. Omnisphere is a no go for me. I am completely bored by it.

We have basically every synth and library there is and for the music we make that have to sound a certain way we can't live without Nexus or PhalanX and a little bit of Tone2 ElectraX aswell

Chris
I considered Omnisphere...and I will probably get that later this year anyway.

^^This.^^

Scoring mostly needs sounds that are softer and wider, in part to leave the center open for and work around dialog.
