Well I mostly use EW/QL Play VIs and VSL VIs and both of them will support AAX. That has been made known. I presume that they are in no hurry as RTAS will work in PT10 so until PT11 comes out there is no imminent need to hurry.

Hi everyone,

We appreciate that some may be feeling uncertainty and we value your feedback. This sub-forum and the AAX plug-ins list were not created as a signal that the work is complete, but as a way to get you the info you need around AAX—there's a lot work still to be done. That being said, Avid and the developer community understand the importance of getting the portfolio of plug-ins ported to AAX and they are coming! Over the next couple weeks alone, there are some very exciting announcements coming and we'll continue to share them here.

Please keep the discussion going!

Do you know anything about the Air group porting their virtual instruments to AAX?

I obviously can't speak into where things stand now since the AIR team are owned by inMusic, however it was my understanding that before the sale that AIR were porting to AAX, I have no reason to see why that would change, but as I say nothing is confirmed until announced.

Will the old standby of running a fossilized machine via MIDI with VIs in whatever format still work? Just asking, without starting a gunfight.

In theory, that would always work, provided you have I/O between both machines. PT10 also introduced some interesting networking possibilities between other PT10 systems.

7 months after the release of HDX this list is pretty good. It took a year before HD/Mix Upgrade.
Just think PT 64 bit will throw this list out again.

Actually, there is very little that can’t be accomplished with what is currently available. It’s just that the old familiar ways are a thing of the past.

I think anyone coding for AAX at this point is prepared for 64-bit. At least I hope they are.
