Download Update for 8.0.3 without original install disc

Please Note: If you previously purchased Pro Tools 8 via download and you do not have a Pro Tools 8 disc, please do not use this updater. A downloadable version of the full Pro Tools 8.0.3 web installer will be placed in the same account where your Pro Tools 8.0 installers are available:

Any idea when the updates will be in user accounts as I do not have an original install disc and I have a brand new Imac I want to get PT installed on!

I agree completely! I have work to do and have yet to see the updater in my account. I even tried downloading the "need the DVD" version and actually got through the install process, but the program still quits responding immediately, even if it manages to start a session. I tried mounting the installer in Toast so the updater thinks it's a DVD, but obviously the updater shuts down all applications. Grrrr.

Should this be in troubleshooting so an admin hears our woes?

We have seen every post about this - there's nothing that can be done to make it happen faster, unfortunately. We understand everyone wants it as soon as possible - and that's exactly what we're doing. The procedure to prepare and stage these installers is more complicated than the updater version, which is why it takes longer.

As long as "everything" works then, everyone will cheer at least afterwards. ;-)

I understand, though I just went out and had to RE-purchase a physical PT8 so that I don't lose clients and can get my work done by deadline. I just wish we could have a release date announced and that when Digidesign says "about a week" it doesn't become 2 weeks + before those of us who spent as much money for PT8 as a web-download version has to go and spend double that for a physical disc due to tight circumstances--both time and money.

Never update in the middle of a job or just before! There will always be a new issue that you don't want to discover in front of your clients. And Yes, I am growing impatient for the installer too.

I came here to check the status of this also. Is there a way for me to buy the discs for a few bucks or download an iso?
